NDMSA holds 1st biennial conference

Dimapur, Nov. 23 (EMN): Nagaland Directorate Ministerial Service Association (NDMSA) held its 1st biennial conference at Molu Ki Merhülietsa, Kohima, on November 22 with Pankaj Kumar, chief secretary, as the chief guest. Since its inception way back in 1975, it was for the first time that the Association had organised such mega event. Speaking on the occasion in the first session, the chief secretary expressed his happiness in conducting such an event for the first time in the history of the Association. He has termed it as a privileged to interact with all the different department directorate staff in such occasion since it was difficult for him to do on an individual department level.
He has likened the Secretariat as the head where most of the thinking is done and the directorate and the districts as the arms and legs where most of the things are implemented and executed. He said that the directorate forms the bridge between the Secretariat and the district and an important factor in the government system.
He has encouraged the Association members to maintain a check-list system while discharging duties in order to keep track of the things they are doing. Stating that adequate refreshers course and in-service trainings were imparted to the ministerial cadres, he said the government would look into possibilities to include programmes for the directorate staff while planning such policies.
The welcome address was delivered by the association president L Tali Imsong, while group song was presented by the Health & Family Welfare Directorate, and highlights of the association was delivered by its advisor R Wati Imchen. Vetülü Kronu and Chubatola also presented a special numbers and the association general secretary M Renthungo Tungoe delivered the vote of thanks.
In the second session, a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2017-19 was inducted with M Renthungo Tungoe as the president and Longngam Konyak as the general secretary. More than 1000 members from the directorates in Kohima and Dimapur attended the conference.
