Kohima, Nov. 3 (EMN): The 1st Badminton Tournament of the Nagaland Civil Service Association (NCSA) concluded at the Indoor Stadium, Kohima on Friday evening. The two-day tournament was organised by the Nagaland Civil Service Association.
Nokchasashi and Vekusayi of Secretariat team Kohima emerged as the champions in men’s doubles category, while Relise and Tsenthungo of Mon district bagged the second place, Benjamin Longkap and Japeth Woch of Phek district in the third place.
In the mix double category, Tsenthungo E Ngullie and Ilika Zhimomi of Mon district bagged the first place and Kemeiyilie and Kelevituo of Dimapur district in second place, while Vikhweno M Chale and Thejaviso Nakhro of Dimapur district in third place. The winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000, Rs 7,000, and Rs 5000 respectively along with certificates.
The overall champion was bagged by Mon district and received the running trophy and the runners-up by Dimapur district. It was informed that a total of 58 participants took part in the tournament.
Khrienuo C Metha, NCS (retd.) gracing the occasion as the special guest lauded the initiative of the association stating that the tournament will help in strengthening the unity of the association and also encouraged the young officers to give their best effort and commitment in their duty.
