Addressing the gathering, special invitee stressed that imparting education in social science must not be limited to class rooms alone. He suggested that 50% of input must be given in the class and 50% knowledge must be given through field visits, activities and projects. He stated that learning through activities and field visits would have a lasting impression on them.
He also suggested research scholars to focus on real experience than on copy paste adding the real experience obtained is the essence of research and must be shared with outside world by publishing it. He insisted on the students to take up small projects of documenting their culture and publishing it.
Prof. Venuh, in his keynote address, said that historians from the northeast have neglected their history. He urged the scholars to rewrite the history of northeast India. He further urged the scholars not to neglect the traditional values imbedded in the cultural ethos of northeast.
