‘Nana – a tale of us’ released

The much awaited and acclaimed thought provoking movie titled ‘Nana – a tale of us’ was released at a small but grand programme by NBCC general secretary, Rev Dr Zelhou Keyho at NBCC Platinum Hall, Kohima this morning.
Directed by Tiakumzuk Aier, ‘Nana – a tale of us’ tell of the community, love and forgiveness through the story of a family living in rural Nagaland. It also depicts the issues of election in Nagaland. The film begins at the juncture of the impeding state elections that quietly leads through the events that affect its characters to make certain life changing decisions.
The casts include Watipongla Kichu as ‘Nana’ the main character, Zhokhoi Chuzho, Mengu Suokhrie, Ariensa Longchar, Bokavi Swu, Imnasenla Aier, Imkong Lonchari and Chubatemjen.
The movie in Nagamese is produced by the Aoyimti Baptist Church Youth Ministry, Dimapur in association with Dreamz Unlimited and Rain Drops Entertainment.
The Aoyimti Youth Ministry has incepted the movie ministry to reach out to the people through art and media in the year 2012 with a Christian movie called ‘Life Rewind’ and another in 2014 titled ‘The wakeup call’.
‘Nana – a tale of us’ is the third production of the Ministry that tries to put a message to the people where ‘honesty’, once a hallmark of Naga character has lost its relevance in the present context and one’s identity is easily sold for a bottle of liquor or petty cash during the elections.
The intricate characters by the cast in the 100 minutes movie tells how the social evils replaced the old values in a Christian state such as ours, as Advisor Aoyimti Youth Ministry, L Mongkum Jamir asserted that the movie is for a social cause, and the ministry will strive to fight the social evils in the society where ‘we all have become a victim of the system.’
Officiating Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), N Moa Aier said this film on clean election couldn’t have been released at a better time than today. While stating that films and videos have more impact and better influence specially the youth, he wished the film a success and hope that more of such films and videos will be made in days to come.
Chairman, Aoyimti Village Council, T Lima Pongen was optimistic that this exceptionally revolutionizing movie will surely touch many lives and bring a change in the socio-political aspects of our land. He expressed confidence that this film will create a great impact for the society, and bring the much needed change in the political set up.
The release programme was attended by NBCC members, leaders from various churches, Aoyimti Village Council members, casts and crew of the film besides others.
