Dimapur, Jan. 12 (EMN): Zunheboto district’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president, Shikuto Serna has declared that the “Nagas are at the threshold of entering into a new government in the state very soon.”
The district president said this while addressing meetings during the tour to ‘strategic’ villages under Suruhuto area from Jan. 5-9. It was stated that the touring team had a meeting with the Congress and National Democratic Progressive Party.
This was informed in the press release issued to media on Fri. by the BJP’s 33rd assembly constituency of Suruhuto.
“The president voiced (sic) out that corruption and defection of the NPF government is the talk of every Naga people,” the press release stated.
“Ministers / parliament secretaries have become richer and rest of the people has become poorer. So, by all means change is eminent in the state and BJP is the only alternative party that will eradicate corruption and bring development in the state,” Serna asserted.
The district president said that India is a secular and democratic country, every citizen has the liberty to believe any religion or practice any custom. He echoed that the BJP is a political party and nothing to do with religion affairs.
The purpose of the tour was to deliver ‘ clear and right message’ to the people about the goodness of the BJP and how the BJP government at the centre headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is doing best services for the poor and needy people in the country,” the press release stated.
Mandal President Tokhevi Aye briefed the villagers about the new schemes that are being introduced by the BJP government at the centre for the farmers and poor peoples.
‘Kisan’ unit’s President Phushito Yeptho; former unit president, Tovishe Chophi; and state executive member Hokheyi Aye exhorted the villagers to support the BJP during the state elections, the press release stated.
Three political parties of Suruhuto namely ACC (Congress), NDPP and BJP have stated to have jointly made an agreement and took pledge to support the candidature of Khehovi Yeptho the intending candidate from Suruhuto constituency without any pre-condition.
The touring team covered 12 villages namely Zhekuto, Sapotimi, Tichipami, Kholeboto, Vedami, Narto police, Phuye old, Phuye New, A/Saghemi, Yehemi, Kiyetha, and Suruhuto town.
