Dimapur, April 4 (EMN): The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for setting up of ‘Nagalite’ centre in all the government polytechnics in the state was signed on April 4 between Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Nagaland, Kohima and Jaganlite India Pvt. Ltd (JIPL). This was informed in a press release received on Wednesday from the authority.
The department was represented by Director Technical Education Arjun Singh. Minister for Higher and Technical Education, Temjen Imna Along and commissioner -secretary, Higher and Technical Education, Dellirose M Sakhrie were also present.
The initial production of Nagalite centre will be LED bulb, street lights and other led and solar products as per BIS / BEE specifications which are of huge demand in the market, it was informed.
As per MOU, a short term training courses shall be conducted for local youth, with an aim for entrepreneurship-cum-skill development on the line of the enterprise.
It was also agreed that the course fees of the training program shall be shared between JIPL and DTE in the ratio of 80:20 respectively and revenue sharing between the two parties shall be in the ratio of 85:15. However, it was stated that the cost of setting up and functioning of centre shall be borne by JIPL only.
