Nagaland weather update: ‘Heavy to very heavy rains’

Dimapur, June 12 (EMN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has predicted ‘heavy to very heavy rains’ in the coming days in Nagaland.
“As per the NSDMA district wise weather waning bulletin, heavy to very heavy rain is likely to hit five districts in Nagaland namely, Kohima, Phek, Tuensang, Zunheboto and Kiphire on the 13th of June 2018. Furthermore, districts like Peren, Kohima, Wokha and Mon is also likely to experience heavy rain on the 14th June 2018. The overall weather condition across the districts is likely to remain dry except Wokha district on the 15th of June 2018,” informed an update from the agency.
It instructed all ‘DDMAs and emergency response agencies to remain alert for any untoward incidents’. “The public are requested to avoid going into or overnight stay in the risky zones such as near river banks, sloppy and landslide prone areas. In case of any caused by the erratic monsoon rain, dial @1070/ 0370-2291122, State Emergency Operation Centre, NSDMA, Home Department for response,” it informed.
