Nagaland Pencak Silat team win five gold and three broze medals
Dimapur, Aug. 23 (EMN): The Nagaland Pencak Silat team won five gold and three broze medals in the recently concluded Junior National Pencak Silat Championship which was held at the Guru Nanak Dev University in Punjab from August 19 to the 21st.
According to an update received here on Friday, a 10 member team of Nagaland Pencak Silat Association participated in the championship.
The medal winners are;
- Tending event: Kitenlo K. Thono (gold), Kevin (gold), and Nasher (bronze)
- Regu event: Kevin (gold), Nasher (gold), and Kitenlo K. Thono (gold)
- Ganda event: Imnatoshi Longkumer (bronze) and Kevin (bronze)
The members were lead by Khevishe Sema (president, Nagaland Pencak Silat Association) along with team manager Hetoi Sema, and Ghunato Sema and team coach Deep Kumar.
Altogether 32 states participated in the championship, organised by Pencak Silat Association of Punjab under the aegis of Indian Pencak Silat Federation which is recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs of Sports, Government of India.
