ABAM conducts training

The Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM) has conducted training on social concern from June 13 to 15 in Impur. The Childline 1098 centre co-ordinator, Lanutemsu, and the managing director, Imchawati Kichu, represented Childline 1098, Mokokchung. The director has sensitised the participants and enlightened about Childline 1098, its functions and services.

DDCF conveys Eid greetings

The Dimapur District Citizens Forum (DDCF), a collective forum of all tribes and communities of Dimapur, has extended Idd greetings to the Muslim brothers and sisters of Nagaland. The forum president, Joseph Lemtur, hoped that the festival of Idd-ul-fitir would usher in peace and unity among all citizens.

DMC conveys Eid-ul-Fitr greetings

Dimapur Meetei Council (DMC) has conveyed greetings to all the Muslim community on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr 2018. The council, in a press release issued by its executive member Prem Singh, hoped that the festival would bind the people with peace, happiness and brotherhood.

Mokokchung’s DC informs

In order to regulate and ease traffic congestion within the town area, the deputy commissioner, Mokokchung, has informed that unloading of goods from loaded trucks/vehicles should be completed at 7:30 am in the morning and resume at 5 pm in the evening during summer and 4 pm during winter. Deputy commissioner, Mokokchung, has informed that the given timing would come into effect from the date of issue of this order till further order.

NPF president mourns demise

President of Naga People’s Front (NPF), Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu, has mourned the demise of a prominent leader, Kevimedo Rutsa, who passed away on June 15 in Kohima. Liezietsu has described Kevimedo Rutsa as a man of principle, who always stood for the truth and work for the welfare of his fellow men. He added that Kevimedo has tirelessly worked in different capacities for the welfare of the people. He lamented that in his demise, the Kohima village as well as the Tenymi in particular and the Nagas in general have lost a great leader. He has conveyed condolences to all his children and loved one. He prayed that the God Almighty would grant solace and comfort the bereaved family members in their hour of grief.

NSUI state unit holds meeting

National Students’ Union of India, Nagaland Unit, has held a consultative meeting with Monoj Hazarika, national secretary NSUI and in-charge of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, on June 14 in its office, Congress Bhavan, Kohima. The meeting was attended by Moa Emchen, NPCC general secretary (org), and state committee members who had resigned on February 16 last. The resigned members repose their allegiance by withdrawing their resignation in the presence of national secretary NSUI. A press release issued by the state unit vice president, Niloboto Sumi, and the senior vice president, Moasenla Jamir, stated that the in-charge has emphasised on the urgent need to set-up the state executive committee at the earliest.

ENPO elects new team

Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) has elected new team of office bearers for the tenure 2018 – 2020. The new team would be headed by Kekongchim Yimchunger as president, Manlang Phom as general secretary, W Bendang Chang, Hosea Konyak, Setsacho Sangtam, Hangting as vice presidents, Sipong, Tingyuh Konyak, Makhezho, L Shillem, M Tsalise as secretaries, C Bendang Chang as finance secretary. The finance committee members included          Kamlong Phom, Selitong, L Mongba, PM Nokpai, and P Shingya, while Akiu Yimchunger was elected information secretary, and Dr. Longai Phom from Dimapur, PKF Tochu from Tuensang and TT Chongshen as treasurers. The advisors included Khoiwang Konyak, Metpong Phom, MP Noksang, Sashi Naga, Heno Khiamniungan and Thsesong Yimchunger. The house consisted of 60 CEC members (10 from each tribe).

AG office informs on GPF

Office of the Principal Accountant General in Kohima on Friday informed all the General Provident Fund (GPF) subscribers of the state government that a list of unposted items due to wrong GPF account numbers and names have been compiled and handed over to the Senior Treasury Officers for further distribution to Drawing and Disbursing Office (DDO). All the DDOs are requested to submit the corrected list directly to the GPF branch or through treasury officer in concern for restoration. It also requested all GPF subscribers to submit collateral evidences for restoration of their missing credits. Stating that the 2017-18 GPF accounts are to be closed, it has requested all the GPF subscribers to submit their documents to the office’s GPF Branch by June 29.
