Nagaland lose to Jharkhand by 6 wickets

Dimapur, April 15 (EMN): In an exciting game of cricket in Patna, Nagaland lost to Jharkhand in the finals of the MP Verma All India Invitation Unity Cup of 40 overs a side game on April 12. Team Nagaland team gave a tough fight to the strong opponent before losing the match by 6 wickets.
Earlier, Nagaland captain Imliwati Lemtur after winning the toss and electing to bat first put up a reasonable score of 198 runs in 40 overs. The day and night match which was graced by former Indian cricketer, Dilip Vensarkar and Surinder Khanna was surprised at the way Nagaland boys put up a tough fight against the superior opponent. The experienced Jharkhand team prevailed over Nagaland in the 38th over and ultimately won the match by 6 wickets.
This is the first time a team from Nagaland has reached the finals of All India tournament. In the way to the final team Nagaland beat Mizoram, Bihar and Manipur.
The tournament was organised by Cricket Association of Bihar (CAB) under the leadership of its secretary, Aditya Verma. 12 teams participated in the tournament held from April 4 to 12 in two different venues in Patna.
Nagaland team consisted of Imliwati Lemtur (C), Hokaito Zhimomi, Tahmeed Rahman, Jalaluddin, Sedezalie Rupreo, Shampri, Richu Dev, Mughato Chishi, Teni Chishi, Inakato Zhimomi, Nadeem, Imlikaba, Allem and Liremo Patton.
Team Nagaland added another achievement to its honour as its young spinner Tahmeed Rahman, who took 11 wickets in the tournament was declared the highest wicket taker of the tournament. Tahmeed also took five wickets in a match.
