Nagaland BJP readies for national convention and Good Governance Day

Dimapur, Dec. 30 (EMN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of Nagaland state held a meeting on Dec. 29 in the party’s state office in Kohima in preparation for their national convention, and for Good Governance Day. The unit issued a press release to the media informing about the event.

During the program, Nagaland unit’s BJP president Temjen Imna Along said that the state’s BJP was a national party “with a regional outlook.” He was said to have encouraged the party’s workers to leave aside their differences and work together “for stronger prospects.”

“(Along) stressed on the Good Governance Day saying that ‘A person’s birthday is decided by God not man.’ Thus, India celebrates Good Governance Day in honor of Bharat Ratna, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee whose birthday falls on 25th of December. He said Vajpayee was not only a politician but a great poet, orator and statesman who brought trajectory program to Nagaland,” the press release stated.

Further, the BJP president encouraged the party’s workers to “practice humility and accountability with given responsibilities.” He was said to have lauded “the 12 fulltime workers” for their tireless service rendered to the party “which led to big success of the party in the state.”

Earlier in the program, representatives of districts and ‘morcha’ units presented their reports which was followed by discussions concerning the forthcoming BJP national convention scheduled to be conducted during January 11-12 at Delhi, the updates added.
