Dimapur, Nov. 1 (EMN): To promote local entrepreneurs in their respective vocation, young upcoming entrepreneurs in the persons of Gihutoli Khulu, Vilokali Zhimomi, Akato A Rochill, Ravozo Khusoh, and Atohoto Zhimomi have announced to organise ‘Naga Entrepreneurs Conclave (NEC)’ on November 17 and 18 at Urban Haat. The conclave will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on both days.

This was announced by the NEC organising team at a press conference on November 1 at Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) office premises. NEC is being supported by DMC and Business Association of Nagas (BAN). The two-day event with its motto “Support local” is an innovation to enhance traditional marketing style by bringing together all the existing local owned businesses and enterprises with an idea of connecting with another through such business conclave and activities.

“NEC is essentially a meeting of both start-ups and already established firms exclusively for the locals in order to discuss the problems and sort out the solution and in a way promoting each other’s business,” expounded Akato A Rochill. NEC is a movement that has been initiated mainly to conserve a space for locals in the market. It is about recognising the potentials of the local makers, recognising their products and services and making them available to larger section of society, he added.

According to the organisers, the main target of organising NEC is not to do business but for the start-ups and entrepreneurs to be noticed. Moreover with the State facing a crucial setback on business invasion mostly by illegal immigrants, the team said ‘it is high time for Nagas to be established in our land’.

“When you support local, they support you and the least of what each one of us can contribute to our society is to support locals. By buying locally produced products, you and I should pledge to invest in our local economy,” conveyed the organising team.

“Listen to local entrepreneurs stories, look at their products, taste their food and find out what’s in the local for you. Exchange vows to support fellow locals, be more community oriented, support sustainable community” is what the organisers want the participants at the conclave to contribute.

During the two-day event, there will stalls, business conclave and entertainment. Interested entrepreneurs and start-ups can collect the form for participation from ‘The Garden’ located at Supermarket and the ‘World of Titan,’ Dimapur. The registration fee for Dimapur is Rs 1000, while the fees for participants from Kohima and other districts will be Rs 500, the team informed.

The organisers have invited start-ups, farmers, suppliers, designers, musicians, photographers, weavers, carpenters and all local entrepreneurs to be part of the event.
