Dimapur, Dec. 4 (EMN): Naga American Foundation (NAF) has announced the launch of its 2018-19 Aryo Shishak Memorial Scholarships.
Secretary of Naga American Foundation, Justin Aier, stated that the scholarships are opened to all Naga/ Naga-American students enrolled in studies in the United States. One $500 scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student, and another $500 scholarship to a graduate student. Interested candidates are asked to submit an essay on their experiences as Naga/ Naga-American students in the United States.
Last year’s scholarship recipients included Lanutoshi Paul (BSc in Computer Science, Miami University, Ohio), Elspeth Iralu (PhD in American Studies, University of New Mexico), and TemnaAier (Master of Arts in Theology, Fuller Theological Seminary).
Candidates are asked to apply before December 31. Winners would be announced by late January 2019, the release added.

The Dr. Aryo Shishak Memorial Scholarships are named in honour of Dr. Aryo Shishak, an early pioneer of the NAF and a former president and board member of the organisation. Dr. Shishak passed away on September 24, 2017, and in October 2017, NAF announced the renaming of its scholarships in memory of Dr. Shishak’s decades-long service to the NAF and the Naga community in the US.
