Myanmar can be purposeful and natural friends: Acharya

Dimapur, April 12 (EMN): Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Vikram Misri called on the Governor of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh P.B. Acharya at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on April 12. They discussed on strengthening stronger relationship between India and Myanmar through North East India, this was reported through a press release from PRO appended by Atum Potom.
It release added, the Governor, while reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for the development of North East Region through ‘Act East’ policy said that India and Myanmar can be purposeful and natural friends as they share common traditions and religious practices. With a clear vision, we can have stronger relationship, he pointed.The Governor emphasised that people of the region must come above their personal agenda and strengthen social empowerment. Road communication and more people to people interaction must be established.Sharing his experiences in the region since 1968, the Governor expressed that people from the region must present the ground realities of NE in Delhi.
The Governor also disclosed that he is proposing for establishing a medical college cum hospital near the border area between Nagaland and Myanmar.
It further state that,the Ambassador, who is on a tour to four States, i.e. Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram sharing international border with Myanmar shared his observations on important issues including free movement regime with the Governor. State’s First Lady Kavita Acharya and wife of Ambassador Dolly Misri, Secretary to Governor Vinod P. Kavle and his Smt Namrata V Kavle were present in the meeting amongst other.
