Though I am also a beneficiary of this so called Indian state of Nagaland and my late father was also a former employee of the state and fed us from his salary from the state, BECAUSE I later discovered that this Indian state was achieved through treachery and trickery at the expense of Naga Blood and Naga tears, I disassociated myself from it. After this discovery, I never cast my vote for its perpetuation. And far from thinking that this corrupted state of Nagaland is the ultimate fulfillment of all Naga dreams, I have always considered the Nagaland state of India as a farce and a shadow of the real thing which is self rule. And because of these facts which were exposed in my book “Uncovering the Political lies that have covered Indo- Naga political history from the 1940’s to the Present,” I had kept my mouth shut even though I could clearly see that the present Municipal elections controversy is headed for a headlong collision course. It will again be a collision of Naga people’s wishes AGAINST the wishes of some opportunist and pragmatic Nagas with the support of the Government of India and its constitution. The pro-ULB supporters can perhaps be called the Second 16 Point Agreement coterie.
I for one (And thank God, I am not the only one), can clearly see through all the clever political lies and reasons- supported by legal terms and even religious appeals- why the elections must be held to safeguard women’s equal rights with man and blah blah blah. But the main reason- as every sane and sober Naga- can clearly see is the MONEY FACTOR that will come into the state, if the elections are held. I for one thank God that the present state coffers are empty and there is very little scope left for indulging in money amassment for coming elections in the near future. All Nagas with a conscience know that these Urban Legislative Bodies elections will bring in another flood of money and that all the active Pro-Municipal Elections supporters have their greedy eyes focused on that money.
But the real and fundamental issue is whether the Municipal elections supported by the state authorities who are in turn, supported by the INDIAN Government and the INDIAN Constitution will bring peace and human prosperity to Nagaland and future generations of Naga children? The ultimate question is whether Nagas are for principled human values that will last for all generations to come or for quick money that will satiate the hunger and thirst for money and power of a few Nagas. The aftermath of a possible collision will surely be a bitter “after taste” for all future Naga generations.
Cursed was the day when 19 Nagas went to Delhi and signed off all Naga rights to freedom and liberty in their own lands. Cursed was that day when that 16 point Agreement was signed enslaving Nagas to uphold the constitution of a foreign Country in their own country.
Therefore, go ahead- The Indian puppet State Government of Nagaland the Joint Action Committee on Women Reservation (JACWR) and murder Nagaland once more on the altar of your lust for money and political power. But mind you, God and future generations of Nagas will judge you for your lust for personal aggrandizement.
In recollection, all the Naga sacrifices of blood and tears for freedom from 1947 to 1960 were betrayed by the 16 Point Agreement opportunists of 1960. ( For details read the a fore mentioned book: “Uncovering the Political lies …”). Next, the sacrifices of over 540 Naga soldiers- many of who bled and died on their return journey from China to Nagaland- were betrayed by the Revolutionary Government of Nagaland (For details read: “The Naga Saga pp. 221-286). Next, over 3000 Nagas were murdered on the false charges that the Shillong Accord had betrayed the Naga nation (For details read the book: “The illegal formation of the NSCN).
All these self destruction acts of the Naga nation were committed by Nagas themselves. Go ahead therefore- the state of Nagaland and the JACWR- and murder Nagaland once more. But please remember this, that in our present global world, both India and the world will laugh at us for our thick headed stupidity in pursuit for quick money and political power.
