Murky Agri: RTI exposes 90% ‘questionable’ recruits

Dimapur, May 22 (EMN): Continuing its RTI exposures on “questionable appointments” made by the state government, the Nagaland Congress on Monday stated that 90% of “regularized employees” recruited by the state’s department of Agriculture were made “either directly or through questionable departmental process”.

A press release from the party stated: “As per RTI Information furnished by office of directorate of Agriculture, Nagaland, Kohima, as on 13th October 2016 only 10% of total regularized employees in the department were appointed through NPSC; 0.4% through Combine Recruitment Exam and 1% on compassionate ground and on deputation.
“The rest 90% regularized employees were appointed either directly or through questionable departmental process. Contractual appointments of 206 ATMA employees were made by the department and 64 KVK employees through interview board”.

The breakup of appointments in the district is shown below:

• In Kiphire district, only 3% of total regularized employees were appointed through NPSC and 97% through questionable appointment process.

• In Peren district, only 4% through NPSC and 96% through questionable appointment process.

• In Longleng district, only 4% through NPSC and 96% through questionable appointment process.

• In Wokha district, only 4% through NPSC; 0.8% through Combine Exam and 95% through questionable appointment process.

• In Mokokchung district, only 11% through NPSC and 89% through questionable appointment process.

• In Tuensang district, only 11% through NPSC and 89% through questionable appointment process.

• In Mon district, only 12% through NPSC and 88% through questionable appointment process.

• In Zunheboto district, only 12% through npsc and 88% through questionable appointment process.

• In Dimapur district, only 12% through npsc and 88% through questionable appointment process.

• In Phek district, only 13% through npsc and 87% through questionable appointment process.

• In Kohima District, only 11% through NPSC; 3% on compassionate/deputation and 86% through questionable appointment process.

• In the directorate, only 10% through NPSC; 1% Combined Exam; 4% on compassionate/deputation and 85% through questionable appointment process.

“It is high time conscious people- young and old come out of sulking and garner their hidden strength to make seemingly impossible thing possible. NLC challenges all serious-minded people to join hands with the party on the task to bring desired change”, it stated.
