Dimapur, Nov. 13 (EMN): The measles and rubella vaccination campaign in Nagaland has covered 96% of the target—children aged between nine months and 15 years.

A statement from the department on Tuesday informed there were no reports of any AEFI (adverse event following immunisation). As of Nov. 12, it informed, 4,29,851 children through 3,011 schools and 2,401 outreach sessions have been immunised.

“With only a few days left before the campaign is officially concluded, parents who have still not vaccinated their children are advised to proceed to the nearest government health facility at the earliest. MR vaccine will be available only under routine immunization after the campaign for children up to 2 years, hence those children who are yet to receive MR vaccine will not be able to avail it after the campaign is over.

“Therefore, the department urges the few children who are yet to be vaccinated to come forth for vaccination at the earliest and be protected from the deadly measles and rubella diseases,” it stated.
