More condole with Rutsa’s family

Dimapur, June 12 (EMN): Organisations and individuals have mourned the untimely demise of Xavier Rutsa, president of Kohima Press Club (KPC) and correspondent of Times of India, who passed away on June 11 in Kohima.
Abu Metha: Advisor to chief minister, Abu Metha, while mourning the demise of Xavier Rutsa, has described him as a leading media personality of the region who had worked for some of the most prestigious media houses in the country. “My friendship and association with him dates back to more than a decade and a half and ever since, I have found him to be a true ambassador of the fourth estate,” the advisor stated adding that he was a role model for all journalists.
Metha also lamented that the demise of Rutsa was a loss for the society who strengthened democracy and uphold the role of the fourth estate. Metha has conveyed condolences to the members of the bereaved family and also to all the colleagues and friends in the media fraternity.

NCSU: Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) stated that Xavier Rutsa was popularly known as a friend by young and old and was associated with NCSU since last many years. It lamented that the union has lost a great leader. NCSU has joined Rutsa’s family members in their hour of grief and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

CCK: The Classic Club, Kohima, has described Rutsa as a mild, soft spoken, and committed journalist, who was a true gentleman and a lover of sports. Stating that he was a pillar of encouragement for many especially for the club and sportspersons, the club president, K Neibou Sekhose has saluted him for all that he had done for the club and for the people of Nagaland.

NPP: The National People’s Party, Nagaland unit, stated that Xavier Rutsa, a senior journalist among the Nagas whose zeal for serving the public through his writings would remain a testimony to those who know him.

“The NPP rank and files who had the opportunity to meet know him know Rutsa as a humble, calm but an astute and intelligent person. His passing away was a great loss to the Naga society,” the press note stated.

The NPP has shared their sympathy with the bereaved family in their hour of loss and grief.

NWA: Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) general secretary, Vekhozo, stated that Xavier’s contributions towards NWA in particular and wrestling fraternity in general has been immeasurable.
It has described him as a thorough gentleman and an extremely professional journalist who performed his duties with all sincerity. It added that Xavier Rutsa was one among the media committee members during NWA 25th tournament anniversary celebration in 2016. It has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members.
