Mopungchuket celebrates nutrition prog. with folk flavour
Mokokchung, March 20 (EMN): The Social Welfare department organized a ‘folk show’ on March 20 at Mopungchuket village in Mokokchung as part of a district level observance of “Poshan Pakhwada” or ‘nutrition fortnight.’
Updates about the event were stated in a press note that was issued on March 20 by the CDPO establishment of Kobulong.
More than 200 Anganwadi workers from four integrated child development services along with departmental officers in the district converged for the event along with the villagers.
Nutrition Fortnight is being observed from March 8 to the 22nd across the country in commemoration of the first anniversary of the Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyan or National Nutrition Mission.
The main features of the observance include demonstrations on traditional rice pounding and husking methods, performance of “traditional songs based on locally produced healthy organic foods,” and “making of traditional chutney using leek and mushrooms,”
according to the updates.
