Mon conducts AB-PMJAY enrolment drive

Dimapur, July 13 (EMN): Mon district administration and the department of Health and Family Welfare organised a one-day free enrolment drive for the beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) on July 12 at Town Council Hall, Mon.

Deputy Commissioner, Mon, Thavaseelan K, stated that AB-PMJAY scheme aims to provide coverage of INR five lakh per family annually, benefiting poor families for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation through a network of empanelled healthcare provider. AB-PMJAY is free health insurance scheme, he said.

The DC mentioned that during the socio-economic caste census 2011, Mon district had 25,996 families where more than 1,73,000 beneficiaries are listed in the economic census. He called upon the beneficiaries in the district to enrol their names in order to avail the scheme.

Dr. Sao Tunyi, consultant GIZ PMJAY Nagaland, in his awareness talk on Ayushman Bharat PMJAY, stated that Ayushman Bharat- healthy India- is one of the world’s largest government funded healthcare programme. Under the healthcare programme, it would provide cashless and paperless access to service for the beneficiaries at the point of service and help to reduce catastrophic expenditure for hospitalisation. He added that eligible people could avail the benefits in the government and listed private hospitals.

Dr. Sao also elaborated on the document requirements for enrolment of AB-PMJAY scheme. Under Valid Family ID, individuals should furnish (a) Ration Card, (b) Letter from village/ ward council clearly listing out all the members in the household with photos pasted and signed across by chairman panchayat/ village council, (c) Prime Minister’s Letter to the beneficiary. In case (c), either (a) or (b) is mandatory.

Under Personal ID, individuals should furnish any one of the following: Aadhaar card, Voters ID, Pan card, RSBY card (2016-17), any government issued ID card.

After the formal programme, free enrolment drive was held for the beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan ArogyaYojana (AB-PMJAY).
