Mon board cautions VDB against engaging in corrupt activities

Dimapur, Aug. 21 (EMN): Stating that the state government is very serious on the development of villages, the chairman of the Mon District Planning Development Board (DPDB), Pohwang Konyak has cautioned that if any Village Development Board (VDB) is found indulging in corruption or illegal activities, stern action will be initiated and any funds or schemes for that village would be stopped till the issue is resolved.
Without naming any organization, he also said that any individual found involving in illegal taxation, should be arrested.
Konyak who is also the advisor to Fire and Emergency Services, SIRD, Relief and Rehabilitation, was addressing the special DPDB meeting of Mon in the conference hall of deputy commissioner on Aug. 21.

The chairman said that ‘solution is the mandate of the Nagas and unity among the Nagas is the need of hour.’
He observed that linking of aadhaar number to e-roll could not be achieved till now because many villagers do not have aadhar card.

During the meeting, the board members have approved and forwarded grant in aid to Konjong Higher Secondary School, Mon; concept note for construction of road from Mon-Hongphoi-Wangla-Oting-Tiru two- lane to Assam; proposal for opening of Hope School, Tizit; extension of Officers Club Mon building; and proposal for LADP schemes 2018-19

Power point presentation on road safety and awareness was presented by District Transport Officer Roben Mesen. Pamphlet and leaflet for the same were also distributed.
