Mokokchung, Jan. 7 (EMN): Five ministries in Mokokchung will be organizing a five-day event called the Mokokchung Town Youth Spiritual Festival with the theme “Focus” at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex from Jan. 10. This was informed during a press conference by the organizers at the Youth Alive Ministry office on Sun.
The convener of the organizing committee Manen Jamir, director for Cross Road Ministry; Jongpongmar Longchar, director of Youth Alive Ministry; and Talinungsang Pongen, member informed that the focus of the crusade was to bring the youths to the Lord as the general elections for Nagaland was getting closer.
They said that the biggest fear was corrupt election practices attracting and influencing youths to indulge in harmful activities besides engaging in activities involving ‘money’ and intoxications etc., during such times.
Judging by the previous year’s success of a spiritual festival, convener Jamir was convinced that the youths were thirsty and hungry for a spiritual awakening. ‘It would be the biggest youth spiritual festival and believed that this youth festival will enlighten the youths spiritually.’
Supplementing the convener, Longchar added that the previous year’s seven-day youth revival witnessed ‘overwhelming transformation’ among the youths; the organizer had to even shift the venue from Cosmos Hall to the town hall to accommodate more youths.
The Mokokchung Town Youth Spiritual Festival will be conducted during Jan. 10 -14 will start from 5:00 pm. The main speakers of the event will be Among Lemtur, a missionary from Nepal; Lima Imsong, a missionary from Arunachal Pradesh; and Temsuwati, association pastor of the MTBA.
The festival is organized by Youth Alive Ministry, Cross Road Christian Ministry, Christ Church, Lydia Ministry, and Amazing Grace Ministry. The sound system for the event has been sponsored by Zip Sound.
