Mokokchung to host 8th inter-school beat contest on Sep. 14

The  Students’ Welfare  Society (SWS), alumni of Hill View  Higher Secondary School (HVHSS) will be bringing the much awaited – the eight edition of inter-school beat contest at Town Hall in Mokokchung on Sep. 14.

An update from the SWS Alumni- HVHSS issued on Sep. 9 stated that the yearly annual event has been gaining popularity among the young aspirant musicians as the perfect avenue to expose their talents and explore better opportunity to excel their career in music.

‘Over the years this platform has produced musicians and bands who have rose to become top musicians in state,’ the update mentioned.

The organisers are said to have prepared the stage for the budding artists who can climb the ladder to become the top notched band crew in the district.

The release further stated that the competition is said to be much tougher this season as the competing bands representing their respective schools are said to be performing two songs each- a self-composed song and a common song selected by the top musicians in the district.

This year’s winners are said to receive a total sum of INR 37000 plus running trophy.

The organisers are said to have arranged top brands like Clarion, Mad Hatter and Class of Music as guest bands to perform during the clash of school bands.

The popular dance crew in the town- Pop Corn is also said to perform during the mega event.

The grand event is said to be graced by Chairman and Managing Director Minerals and Mines Temjenmoa Jamir.
