Mokokchung district badminton c’ship culminates

Mokokchung, June 27 (EMN): The 31st edition of Mokokchung District Badminton Championship organised by Mokokchung District Badminton Association (MDBA) successfully culminated today at the Indoor Badminton Stadium, Mokokchung.
Altogether 99 matches under 15 events were played during the tournament, out of which 81 male players and 21 female players participated in the tourney under the supervision of Pradip Chaiha former international badminton players and coach.

During the tournament 34 players were selected to undergo an extensive coaching came from July 1-8.
During the closing programme, chief guest, Tali Jamir, Nagaland State Badminton Coach said that Nagaland is doing well in regional level but lamented that Naga players need to break through at the national level.
In this regard, he opined that Naga youngsters have the raw talents and with the right support from Associations and parents they might get through to represent the state and India in international tournaments.
Meanwhile, on behalf of the parents IMDH medical superintendent Dr Medem spoke at the event and welcome speech was pronounced by Er Toshikaba president MDBA.
