Moasunep wins award for education programme

Dimapur, Oct. 10 (EMN): A documentary film titled ‘Not in fine feather?’ directed and cinematographed by Moasunep Kichu of Chungtia village has won the best education programme of the year at CEC-UGC Educational Video Competition 2015-16. He received the award from Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Acharya Dev Vrat, which includes a trophy, certificate of excellence and a cheque of Rs 50,000.
The prestigious CEC-UGC Educational Video Competition was held in Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, on October 5 and 6. The national level competition was opened to all educational institutions, media production and individuals. It was meant to nurture, encourage and recognise excellence in educational video programme production.
‘Not in fine feather?’ explores the production and performance of badminton shuttlecocks as a local cottage industry. In the 22 minutes documentary, it has a history of the manufacture of shuttlecocks in India and the current crisis plaguing the sector in India. The documentary is available in YouTube.
Kichu is also expertised in developing Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) and e-content. MOOC is a courseware for UGC model curriculum and Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) which is available online free of cost in SWAYAM platform of MHRD, Government of India.
