Dimapur, March 20 (EMN): Home minister, Y Patton has termed the allegation by fellow legislator Mmhonlumo Kikon that “he was intimidated and threatened” by the Home department as well as “my (Patton’s) supporters” as highly questionable and objectionable.

In a statement issued on Monday, Patton said: “I would like to clarify that any responsible member in the house is free to ask any question(s) in any department and accordingly the concerned department (sic) is duty bound to provide the required reply on the floor of the house.

“Therefore threat against asking queries, be it by the home department or any of my supporters is highly questionable and objectionable.”

However if there has been any such threat from any quarter, he said, Mmhonlumo should lodge “a complaint to the police so that proper investigation would be initiated and stern action will be taken as per the law of the land which would also ensure that such incidents does not take place in future.”
