MKCSYA organises sports meet and cultural exchange

Maram, Sep. 23 (EMN): The 32nd edition of Maram Khullen Circle Youths’ & Students’ Association (MKCSYA) sponsored sports meet cum cultural exchange was kick-started on Saturday at N Raisung Ground, Maram Bazar, 80 km north of Imphal in Manipur’s Senapati district.
Joint Director L Jayentakumar of Youth affairs and sports department was the chief guest while chief of Maram Sagongnamba, President of All Manipur Students Union (AMSU) Manjit Sarangthem were the guests of honour of the inaugural function.
Demonstrating the peaceful co-existence of different communities in the area, cultural exchange was exhibited by Maram and other communities.
In his speech chief guest advocated that sports and music have no barriers and informed the public that games and sports is nowadays becomes a lucrative profession.
In his speech, AMSU President Manjit Sarangthem said that Manipur has different ethnic communities and it’s has its own unique cultural activities. He also appealed to everyone attending the day’s gathering particularly the students’ fraternity to collectively fight for the students rights across the state. Autonomous district council members of the Senapati district who’s who of Maram circle leaders including the Maram women leaders also attended the day’s inaugural function.
President Karaiba Francis of MKCSYA told the reporters almost all the maram circle clubs and villages are taking part in the eight day sports extravaganza and cultural exchange programme. There are more than two dozen Maram villages in Manipur.
The valedictory function (Prize distribution) of the event is to be held on September 30 with state’s Tribal & Hill areas minister N Kayisii and President of Naga Students Federation Kesosul Christopher and Chairman of Maram Khullen Mangalung as chief guest,guest of honour and honorary guest respectively.
