Mokokchung, June 27 (EMN): In yet another gruesome incident, a four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 32-year-old man on Monday afternoon at Chuchuyimpang village, located some 10 kilometres away from Mokokchung town.
In this connection, Mokokchung police have arrested one person identified as Imnasungkum, aged 32 and hailing from Chuchuyimpang village, at around 11.30 pm Monday night, according to officials of Police Station-I in Mokokchung.
The victim’s mother filed an FIR with the police on Tuesday. According to the FIR, the accused had come to the victim’s place after which he took her outside to a shop at around 12 noon. After 3 hours, around 3 pm, the victim was brought home by someone else, it stated.The FIR stated that the victim’s mother had noticed that her daughter was ‘in an inebriated state and her clothes were not like how (they were when) she left her home’. The mother, naturally, enquired of her daughter, following which the victim ‘revealed the whole incident’.
According to the district police, they could arrest the accused after getting in touch with the Chuchuyimpang Village Council. A medical examination of the victim has been completed and a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant sections of IPC at Police station-I, it was informed.
