Mhasilhousie is heavyweight champ

NAGA WRESTLE MANIA 2016 

KOHIMA, OCTOBER 28: 24-year-old Mhasilhousie Nagi from Jotsoma village overpowered his fellow Angami wrestler Keduovilie Zumu of Tuophema village in the final to emerge as champion of the heavyweight category of the 5th edition of Naga Wrestle Mania 2016 here at Kohima local ground.
Making his Naga Wrestle Mania championship debut, Nagi, champion of this year’s Angami Sports Association wrestling meet, signalled his credentials as a contender for the King of the Ring Championship 2016, scheduled for October 29.
The 90-kg wrestler Mhasilhousie trounced an upcoming Angami wrestler Menuosetuo Yiese from Kohima village in the semi-final. In the quarterfinal, Mhasilhousie downed Chakhesang wrestler Besühveto Cümu, while he defeated Zeliang wrestler Nlumrai Hegwang in the round of last sixteen.
Two times champion of the King of the Ring Series (Winner of 1st & 2nd edition), Pfusato Tetseo from Phuyoba village under Phek district, was knocked down in straight sets by Keduovilie Zumu in the semi-final.
The champion received a cash award of Rs. 50,000 along with the title belt, while the runner-up walked home richer with Rs. 30,000. The losing semi-finalists, who were both adjudged the third position winners, received Rs. 10,000 each.The other wrestlers who made it to the quarterfinal were Zasevikho Meyatsu, Besühveto Cümu, Kevizhalhu Gwirie and Vekuzo Vezüh, runner-up of NWA championship 2016.
Day-two of the 5th edition of Naga Wrestle Mania belonged to Jotsoma village as the champion of junior category Mhasinyüzo Peseyie also hails from the same village.
Mhasinyüzo beat another Jotsoma wrestler Abizo Nakhro in the final to lift the title. The third position was shared by Kuthovezo Medeo from Yorüba village under Phek district and Pusing H. Lungalam, from New Sanglao village of Khiamniungan tribe.
The top two winners of the junior championship received Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000 respectively, while the losing semi-finalists were given Rs. 2,000 each.
