Dimapur, Jan 10 (EMN): Elaborating that youth are future leaders of the society, MLA from 17 Chizami assembly constituency Kezhienyi Khalo advised them to work hard, be more active in church activities and contribute towards the village development.

Khalo stated this while addressing the golden jubilee celebration of Mesulumi youth society (MYS) on January 9 at the village local ground as the special guest. Khalo, who himself was a former president of the MYS, thanked God for the auspicious occasion and greeted the MYS office bearers. Besides, Khalo also lauded the efforts of MYS pioneers and all its leaders who have worked tirelessly and contributed towards the success of the celebration.

Khalo expressed concern over prevailing situation among the present generation, wherein many youth have spoilt their life by using intoxicants and while most of the youth have given more priority to their mobile phones instead of going to church during worship hours. He advised them to work hard, be more active in church activities and contribute towards the village development.

He further advised the village leaders to maintain cordial and healthy relations with neighbouring villages and also asked them to work together for the development of the Secheku range.

The MLA also unveiled the jubilee monolith at Chitho Rikhube which was blessed by pastor MBC Kewekhazu Venuh.

The programme was chaired by Dr. Kulo Kapfo, while the welcome note was delivered by CRPO president, Welhipe Chiero and the vote of thanks was pronounced by VCC Mesulumi, Wenyilo Venuh.
