Meeting for accreditation of journalist held at Diphu

Diphu, Dec. 19 (EMN): In a press communiqué issued by the District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO), a meeting on District Level Accreditation, Recognition Committee was held in the office chamber of Deputy Commissioner of Karbi Anglong on Dec. 18, Monday. The meeting was chaired by DC Adil Khan and attended by five others members who discussed various issues relating to media. They discussed about the necessity of Government accreditation or recognition identity cards for journalists working in the district. Journalist Sanju Bora opined that the process of recognizing genuine reporters will benefit media persons in the District as well as the District Administration. The DIPRO stated that in Karbi Anglong, 7 journalists received accreditation and recognition card from state level accreditation and recognition committee so far. After the discussion, DC directed DIPRO to issue Accreditation, Recognition application forms for new applicants and also renewal forms for those who have acquired the card.
