Medical XI thrash MRH FC 9-4

Kohima, April 24 (EMN): Niphre’s hat-trick and Theja’s brace for Medical XI thrashed MRH FC by a margin of 9-4 during an encounter at the ongoing Morning Premier League here at Kohima local ground on Monday.
Asu’s hat-trick was not enough for MRH team as they conceded six goals in the first half and went down with a humiliating defeat even though the team managed to pull back three goals in the second half.
The first half saw the better Medical team with better possession and counter attacks and Medical XI found the net through Niphre in the 13th minute, and three minutes later, he doubled his tally through an assist from Theja and completed his hat-trick in the 45th minute.
Theja contributed two goals in the 27 and 76th minute and also provided an assist during the game. Keniengutuo, Vinyu, Kekhrie, and David provided a goal each for Medical XI.
For MRH FC, Asu converted a penalty in 25 minute and went on to score in the 49 and 55th minute to complete his hat-trick. Franky also chipped in a goal in the 64th minute with an assist from Imti.
Medical XI moved into 3rd place at 16 points, temporarily leapfrogged MRH FC on 15 points. MRH FC has now lost their third successive match and may go down to the 4th position if Morung United beat Power Comm on Thursday.
