Medical XI salvage a point against All Blacks

Kohima, June 19 (EMN): Medical XI’s Neiphre scored a late goal to make it 3-3 and earn a point for his side against All Blacks in Monday’s Morning Premier League match and temporarily retained the top spot. Weku’s hat-trick was not enough for All Blacks to seal the victory against Medical XI.
During the match, Weku gave the lead for All Blacks in the 6th minute through an assist from Villie. However, the lead was cut short when Theja and Neiphre scored two successive goals in the 17th and 18th minute for Medical XI. Medical XI
As All Blacks pressed hard for an equaliser, Weku with his effort found the net again in 27th minute to end 2-2 in the first half.
In the second half, Weku scored a decisive goal for All Blacks as he completed his hat-trick in the 72nd minute but three minutes later, Kenie set up Neiphre to score an equaliser for Medical XI. The match ended 3-3.
With two matches remaining in the league, Medical XI has 35 points from 16 matches and All Blacks in second place with 33 points from 16 matches. 3rd placed Power Comm with 32 points from 15 matches will be playing against 9th place Mustang FC on Thursday morning. With just three points short of the league leaders Medical XI, a win will see Power Comm dethrone league leaders on better goal difference.
