Kohima, June 27 (EMN): Medical XI edged passed MRH FC 4-1 at Seikhazou ground Kohima on Tuesday morning to keep the title race alive until the last week of the league. Neiphre’s brace and goals from Kehrie, Kenie helped Medical XI to secure three important points.
Medical XI took the lead through Kekhrie in the 15th minute and he set up Neiphre to score the second goal in the 30th minute.
Isak pulled one back in the second half for MRH FC in the 47th minute, but a brace from Neiphre in the 60th minute and Kenie’s goal in the 70th minute sealed the victory for Medical XI. Power Comm and Medical XI are tied with 38 points from 17 games but Power Comm leads the table on superior goal difference and Medical in 2nd place.
With one game remaining, Medical XI still has the chance to be crowned as the champions of the Morning Premier League if they win the last match against MRH Sunrisers next Monday and Power Comm lose the last match against Amur Falcon on Friday.
