MDFA: Final match postponed to Oct. 23

Mokokchung, Oct. 21 (EMN): The Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) has informed that the final match of the MDFA Trophy 2017 has been postponed to Monday, Oct. 23 due to inclement weather on Saturday.
The final match between Zonipang SC and YD Marepkong will kick off at 7 am at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung. MDFA has also expressed its regret that the match could not be played as scheduled because of the heavy down pour as the match was about to start.
Earlier today, the final match programme went ahead with Dr Neiphrezo Keditsu Parliamentary Secretary Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Enterpreneurship as the chief Guest.
Dr Keditsu asserted that football has become a household name for the Nagas particularly for the Ao’s who have produced an Olympian and first Indian Football Captain T Ao. He also saluted the pioneers and leaders of MDFA who have brought MDFA these far to celebrate its silver Jubilee.
He also lamented that Naga tend to have innate talents but unable to achieve higher high because we don’t stick to a particular discipline but try to poke at every sports instead of excelling in one disciplined.
He also advised the players that winning is important but most importantly winning the heart of the fans is important and further urged them to be an ambassador of sports to foster peace and unity.
