MCCI, AKM laud villages for repairing Mokokchung-Mariani Rd

Dimapur, May 28 : Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industries, on behalf of the business community of Mokokchung, Tuensang and Zunheboto appreciated the three villages of Aliba, Chungtia and Kinunger for volunteering in repairing 35 kilometers of the all-important Mokokchung-Mariani road starting from IOC Junction to New Camp today.

MCCI president Tsükti Longkumer and general secretary Limalenden Longkumer in press note expressed hope and dream that such exemplary initiative heralds a people’s good roads movement in the region. “This road is the lifeline for not just Mokokchung but also of Tuensang and Zunheboto and is of paramount economic importance for these districts.”
Meanwhile, AKM Vice-President Akummeren Longchar and General Secretary Bendangkumba Aier in a statement

Said Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) while appreciating the humanitarian work by the respective villages lamented and blamed the BRO for the deplorable condition of the road under their maintenance which served as lifeline for three districts.

The organization also appreciated the various organizations and well–wishers who have generously contributed towards the cause, AKM also appealed to villages located along the road to follow the example set by the three villages so that the road will be playable until taken over fully by the state government.
