Master Shield Trophy to commence from Feb. 20

Mokokchung, Feb. 19 (EMN): The unveiling of the trophy and draw of fixture to the 3rd Master Shield Trophy (MST) was held at Hotel Metsuben, Mokokchung on Tue. Feb. 19.

The trophy was officially unveiled by Alemjungshi Lkr, retired additional secretary government of Nagaland as the guest of honour.

Master Shield Trophy is an annual event organised by Mokokchung District T20 Cricket Federation (MDT20CF). This year’s edition will witness eight professional cricket clubs from Mokokchung and outside the district.

The guest of honour in his speech motivated the players that teams and sponsors will only mould and support them but the bowl of achievement will only come through individual’s efforts.

In this connection, he also encouraged the young players to take up the games and sports professionally but they should be in a position to accept and tolerate all those embarrassment and hardship to achieve their target.

Alemjungshi also asserted that in games and sports individual talents and performance also matters which will boost their career.”

“Smart is good but over smart will be dangerous for the team and oneself; participate with a target and ambition, play as professionals,” he challenged the players.

The 3rd Master Shield Trophy is scheduled to commence from Feb. 20 at Imkongmeren Sports Complex and the inaugural programme will be attended by Sharingain Lkr, General Manager & Management Partner, Eastern Mirror as the chief match patron. The trophy will be played on knock-out format.
