Vikings beat Titan ‘A’ to enter semis

Mokokchung, March 23 (EMN): Teron blasted a strokeful half century as the dark horse of the tournament Viking stormed into the semi-finals of the 2nd Master Shield T20 Cricket Tournament by thrashing a helpless Titan ‘A’ by 63 runs in a loop-sided contest here at Imkongmeren Sports Complex on Thursday.
1Vikings, electing to bat firstascored a total of 152 runs for the loss of 4 wickets from 20 overs. Teron, top order batsman for the Vikings scored 63 runs but was bowled out by Longkum in the 17th over. Longkum also took the wicket of Ganesh, who also contributed 44 runs. Woban and Chubamaong shared a wicket each for Titans ‘A’.
In reply, Titans were never in contention as Vikings hardly took their foot off the pedal to dismiss the batting order from the very start. Titans ‘A’ could manage only 89 runs and was bowled out in 19.2 overs. Woban was the only the batsman for Titans ‘A’ to score double digit of 38 runs. He was bowled by Sajid in the 17 overs of the inning. Sajid, Abir and Yanger took two wickets each from their allotted quota.
2Vikings will now meet the defending champion Skylark, while Zungamedem will face-off with the tourney contender Titans in the semis.
