Kohima, Oct. 9 (EMN): Khuzama Youth Organisation and Senapati FC won their respective second round matches to enter the pre-quarterfinal of the ongoing 19th edition of the NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy at the Kohima local ground (Khuochiezie) on Tue. Oct. 9.

Kezhose Khizho scored five in Khuzama Youth Organisation demolition of Young Kickers FC 6-2 in the first match of the day.

Khizho was at his best to complete his hat-trick in the 45th minute time and added two more goals in the second half.

He opened the scoring for KYO in the 11th minute, headed home the second in the 39th and completed his hat-trick before the end of the first half in the injury time to make it 3-1.

Khizho was unstoppable as he managed to score in the 51st and 79th minutes in the second half while Vilhouvoto Sale added a goal in the 74th minute for KYO.

Zavete Doulo (23rd) and Shovelo Doulo (80th) did score for Young Kickers FC but that didn’t matter much for Khuzama Youth Organisation as they cruised to victory. Kezhose with his back to back scoring feat has become the second highest goal scorer of the tournament with seven goals in two matches.

Meanwhile, Senapati FC overcame Modern College FC 2-0 in the second match to book their pre-quarterfinal round.

Senapati FC started the match brightly and threatened to score as Modern College were put to defend, they managed to hold on until a brilliant effort from Imda got Senapati Fc into the score sheet in the 26th minute. Modern College failed to register a single shot on target as they nervously relied on the defensive side to hold on.

In the second half, Modern College did start better but failed to connect with their striker as the team managed to register few shots on target. Senapati FC responded well by not providing space for the opponent to penetrate.

Sülounü then scored from a long range kick to double the lead in the 67th minute for Senapati team. Modern College failed to threaten after two goal deficit as Senapati FC held on for the win.

Up next, Senapati FC will play against KYO on Oct. 13 in their pre-quarter final match of the tournament.
