Mokokchung, Dec. 12 EMN: The 11th Marsosang football trophy got underway at Chuchuyimlang town with Amenba Yaden, Parliamentary Secretary, Industries & Commerce and NIDC as the chief guest on Tuesday.
Speaking at the inaugural function Yaden said that Chuchuyimlang town has not only been the centre of educational activities but also for sports for the entire Langpangkong range and beyond since it’s township. He also lauded the organisers,Rocky club for keeping the tradition of sports activities especially football alive.
Encouraging the gathering to inculcate the spirit of outdoor activities, the parliamentary secretary said that participating in such outdoor activities enhances not only health but also encourage positive socialising and discipline in an individual amongst his peers unlike a person who is confined indoors addicted to their computers and other modern electronic amenities.
He also said football is a good platform to bring people together and learn teamwork citing the example of the football match organised by Forum for Naga Reconciliation between various Naga Political Groups and thus paving way for reconciliation and unity amongst them.
Earlier in the programme, Katinaro, Associate Pastor (W) Chuchuyimlang town offered the invocation and M.Pangjung, organising committee member delivered the welcome address. Short speeches were also delivered by Tokai, EAC Chuchuyimlang town and Temsuangshi, Tatar and melodas de Gracia presented a special song.
