LSU alleges anomalies in NPSC

Dimapur, Oct. 1 (EMN): Alleging anomalies in the selection of candidates through the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC), Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) has sought the intervention of the State governor for necessary action.
In a representation to the governor, LSU president Lipemo M Tsopoe and the magazine secretary Rhanbemo Patton claimed the recent modified system of NPSC does not protect meritorious candidates because of its highly manipulative system. It stated that the union found out imbalance in the result of 2015 NPSC through employing RTI.
The union felt that such imbalance crisis will further deteriorate the morale of the youth and harmony in the administration.
NPSC, which is the highest authority for selection of civil service candidates in the State where the governor appoints the chairman and members of NPSC, as such the union has sought highest accountability and transparency in the system in the system.
In this regard, it has demanded complete video clippings in viva-voce in place, while it also asked allocation of maximum and minimum marks to be given in viva voce be strictly followed.
On the qualification and criteria to be chairman as well as the members of the board, the union has asked to follow the UPSC system and not as laid down rules by the State. It stated that the total marks secured by the candidate in written examination should not be brought to the notice of the board members till the completion of viva-voce, and added that any examination conducted by the NPSC should be completed within a period of calendar year.
