Kohima, April 8 (EMN): Dietholetuo’s 84* from 58 balls and Ketho’s 3/28 off 4 overs on Saturday set up a 19 runs victory for North Block Warriors over Lower L.Khel Vikings to book a berth for the quarter-finals of the 4th edition of 10-Northern Angami -1 T20 Bash at KVC Ground, Ziekezou on Saturday.Playing the second match of the day, Dietholetuo and Saha inspired North Block Warriors to set a target of 162 runs losing 7 wickets in an 18 over match before Lower L.Khel Vikings were restricted to 142 for 9.
Lower L.Khel Vikings batsmen Visanyu contributed 52 off 43 balls and Imli Sunep with 33 off 29 balls but the opponent restricted the runs as they fell short of 19 runs in the final over.
In the first match, Zienuobadze High Flyers defeated Lower Bayavu Giants by 29 runs. With the win, Lower L.Khel Vikings also enters the quarter-final of the ongoing tournament.
Electing to bat, Zienuobadze High Flyers scored 118/7 in their allotted 15 over. Batsman Tolto contributed 30* off 32 balls. Tapitu took 3 wickets for 11 runs in 3 overs for Lower Bayavu.
In reply, Lower Bayavu Giants managed only 89/7 in 15 overs. SS Alem with 28 off 21 balls and Kiebuithing with 27 off 34 balls were the only notable contributors for Lower Bayevu which was not enough for the team. Tolto of Zienuobadze was awarded the Man of the match.
The third match of the day saw Chedema Strikers beating Upper L.Khel Riders by 8 runs.
Batting first, Chedema Strikers scored a total of 110/8 in 18 overs. In reply, Upper L.Khel Riders were bowled out for 102 runs. Kenieseso of Chedema scoring 44 off 38 balls was adjudged as the Man of the match.
