Seized keys returned by NSCN (IM)
Dimapur, Dec. 20 (EMN): The All Commercial Vehicle Association (AVCA) and other organisations in support has called off the bandh in Wokha district on Wed. after NSCN (IM) cadres reportedly returned keys to taxis seized earlier which has set off the agitation.
A press release from a number of the agitating organisations informed about the development. The statement was appended by Y Bankathung Lotha, president of the ACVA; James M. Tungoe, Wokha co-convenor of the Acaut; and C Renbi Ngullie, general secretary of the ACVA.
"Meanwhile the district based frontal organisation today in a meeting held at Lotha Hoho chairman’s residence at 5 pm thank (sic) the NSCN (IM) official for returning the keys in good faith within the stipulated dateline of 48 hours as a gesture of goodwill and friendship in the larger interest of the general public of Wokha district."
It also added that the 'Lotha frontal organization' were calling off the bandh and withdrawing the resolution made on Dec. 18. The statement appealed to the Naga ‘political groups’ to always keep on 'improving the good relationship towards a lasting peace and solution'.
