Dimapur, March 14 (EMN): Adding another feather to its cap, Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School (LFHHS), Dimapur, has earned laurels to become the first school in Nagaland and the 3rd in the Northeast region to offer world leading Cambridge pathway curriculum to students between 5 to 19 years.

The official approval of Cambridge Assessment International Education (Cambridge International) was made during a programme held on March 14 in the school’s premises. With the approval, LFHSS becomes the first school in Nagaland to offer Cambridge programmes and 3rd in the entire North eastern region. The formal programme was attended by regional director of South Asia Cambridge Assessment International Education (Cambridge International) Ruchira Ghosh and Satyajit Sarkar, manager of East India, Bangladesh and Nepal.

Speaking on the occasion, Ruchira Ghosh stated that Cambridge International was pleased to be associated with a progressive institution like the Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School. She stated that together Cambridge International and LFHSS share a common vision of helping students become confident, responsible, reflective, innovative, and engaged so that they are ready to thrive in the ever-changing world.

With the arrangement, the programme would help students develop love of learning that would stay with them through school, university and beyond. Ghosh hoped to work closely with the school to give the teachers and students all the support they need to succeed with Cambridge programmes.

Dr. Andrew Ahoto, chairperson of Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School, mentioned that it was a matter of great pride for LFHSS to be associated with Cambridge International. He stated that LFHSS was committed to building a happy school and helping every child dream big and excel holistically.

He also expressed optimism that the unique approach of Cambridge International would allow students to take charge of their learning and supports all learners to fulfil their potentials. He felt that the collaboration would help the school prepare children identify their interests early and inspire them ‘Dare to dream and learn to excel.’

Stating that the Cambridge International curriculum is widely recognised in the world, he hoped that the students would find it much easier to cope up with subjects and curriculum of other boards including CBSE and ICSE.

The Cambridge curriculum would be initially started for Grade-VIII and below for developing the concept based approach and active learning, which is unique and one of the strongest attributes of Cambridge International. It would ensure strong foundation based on an international pedagogy and helped students identify with the international community.

After Grade-VIII, the school would run parallel curriculums of both CBSE and Cambridge International from Grade-IX and above in two separate campuses for the benefit of the varied preferences of the students.

The four stages of the Cambridge pathway would give students a clear path for educational success, leading seamlessly from primary to secondary and pre-university years. Each stage combines a world-class curriculum, high-quality support for teachers and integrated assessment including Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International AS and A Level qualifications which are recognised by universities worldwide.

Cambridge International is the world’s largest provider of international education programmes and qualifications. By registering with Cambridge International, Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School joins a community of over 470 schools offering Cambridge programmes and qualifications in India and over 10,000 schools in more than 160 countries across the globe.
