Email sent only to selective recipients
Dimapur, Feb 24: Final list of portfolios of the new cabinet under Chief Minister Shurhozelie Leizietsü was finally released on Friday that included 12 in the cabinet including the chief minister, 24 parliamentary secretaries, 5 advisors and 1 chairman.
The list of portfolios were first noticed being circulated in social media late on Friday evening.
On further enquiry with some of the cabinet members, it was confirmed by them that the list of portfolios doing the rounds in social media was the final.
They further said that although they did not receive hard copy of the list, the office of the Chief Minister had confirmed it as the final and also informed them that it was sent out to all the local media but was never received by Eastern Mirror.
A local media house later informed this correspondent that they had received the email through the NPF party email and not through the official email of the Chief Minister’s office.
It may be mentioned that Eastern Mirror had carried an editorial on February 23 to have a sense of propriety by separating the office of the ruling party/alliance and the chief minister’s office especially when issuing press statements.
However, it fell on deaf ears and also raises speculations that this paper was intentionally excluded from the mailing list.
