Legislators pay a visit to sanctuary for north-eastern women

Dimapur, Aug. 21 (EMN): Nagaland minister for Higher Education and Technical Education Temjen Imna Along, accompanied by the advisor for Youth Resources and Sports, Zale Neikha, visited the Bethesda Bhawan, House of Living Hope in New Delhi.
Run by Lalsawmliani, a woman from Mizoram, the house provides shelter and a home to women from Northeast region ‘who does not have other place or family to go back to after falling victims to unscrupulous people’.

The house aims at helping the destitute women to get inner healing through counselling and by creating for them an atmosphere which is as close as possible to their lives back in the village.

During their visit to Bethesda Home, the two legislators from Nagaland acknowledged the service rendered for the Northeast female victims and helping them to overcome their inner wounds.

Extending solidarity with the victims, they also encouraged the inmates to be bold to take up the challenge in overcoming the problems and regain their lives back. Minister Along and Advisor Neikha also extended financial support towards the administration of Bethesda Home and the inmates, this was informed in a press release received at Eastern Mirror on Aug. 21.
