The NPF Legislature Party held its meeting on 19.07.2017 at Hotel Vivor immediately after the swearing in ceremony of the Hon’ble Chief Minister. The house unanimously congratulated Shri. T. R. Zeliang the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Nagaland for his skill and level headed leadership exhibited during the last fortnight keeping the best interest of the NPF Party in particular and the people of Nagaland in general in mind. The Members also expressed their profound gratefulness to the Almighty for leading us thus far and also further expressed their extreme gratitude to the Hon’ble Governor of Nagaland for upholding and defending the majesty of the Constitution of India by inviting and appointing Shri T. R. Zeliang as the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Nagaland as per the law established.

The NPF Legislature Party also expressed their gratefulness to the BJP Party, a coalition partner, for withdrawing their support to the leadership of Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu and his 11 members and at the same time extending their support to the group led by Shri T. R. Zeliang towards forming a stable government under his leadership. The NPF Legislature Party reiterated its consistent stand of maintaining good relationship with respect and humility with the BJP Party even in the future and resolved to continue the DAN coalition along with the BJP Party.

The house unanimously condemned the actions of Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu, President of the NPF Party for his dictatorial and autocratic leadership by expelling Shri T. R. Zeliang, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Nagaland from both active and primary membership of the NPF Party. The NPF Legislature Party has resolved to take cognizance of the actions of Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu and the senior Central party officials of the NPF Party. He has repeatedly violated the NPF Party Constitution on a number of occasion without any reason, directly negating the laid down procedures in the Party Constitution. It is therefore the unanimous decision of the NPF Legislature Party to hereby demand that Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu resigns from the post of the President of the NPF Party with immediate effect. It is further stated that the NPF Legislature Party will take no cognizance of whatever actions he may take in the future.
