Dimapur, July 11 (EMN): An organisation called the SARDP Sumi Area Affected Landowners Welfare Committee has appealed to the authorities to ‘clear the second phase of property compensation,’ stated to be from the Special Accelerated Road Development Programme (SARDP).

A press release from the committee that was received here on July 11 threatened to ‘halt SARDP work,’ besides appealing to the authorities “to clear up the 2nd phase of standing property compensations due to receive by the beneficiaries where 90% is in the 2nd phase but of no avail till date.”

The committee asked the Sumi Hoho also “to reason out in depth why the 2nd phase is still pending where 90% of landowners is yet to receive the property damage compensation and whereas the NHIDCL has now gone up to 5th phase of compensation leaving behind the 2nd phase with unknown reason.”

The committee requested the organisation to “ponder seriously in this matter why the road project is hampering this long enough and also find out the authenticity of the welfare committee’s demand instead of directing the construction company to complete the road project within the stipulated time.”

To the deputy commissioner of Zunheboto the committee requested that the matter be taken to the authorities to “clarify the present position of the 2nd phase of compensation.”

The press release stated a caution: “Except Xuivi village (the compensation of Xuivi village jurisdiction has been cleared up in the 3rd phase i.e., last year/2018), no construction firm will be allowed to execute the work in any of the village jurisdiction. Forceful entry of any company/organization/government agencies will invite to the extent of highway blockade.”
