Lancer Club and Royal Striker in semis

Dimapur, Dec. 30 (EMN): Lancer Cricket Club defeated Outlaws CC by 8 wickets at local ground, Wokha on Saturday while Royal Strikers defeated Pirates CC by 43 runs on Friday to enter the semi finals of the 22nd edition of Winter Cricket Challenge, informed an update from the organisers. In the lone match on Saturday, Outlaws Cricket Club won the toss and electing to bat first were bundled out for a meagre 62 runs in 13.3 overs. Longkumar Khatri was the lone batsman who defied the bowlers of Lancer CC with 25 runs. Renthungo led the wicket takers with the haul of 4 wickets while Chumdemo and Mosuf claimed 2 wickets each and Gaurav and Dipu claimed 1 wicket apiece. Chasing the target, Lancer CC reached the target in the 9th over of the inning losing 2 wickets. Sidharth top scored with 32 runs. Bitu and badal claimed the 2 wickets. Renthungo was adjudged the Man of the Match. On Friday, defending champion Royal Strikers defeated Pirates CC by 43 runs. Electing to bat after winning the toss, Royal Strikers set up a victory target of 127 runs with Man of the Match Hemari Teron top scoring with 48 runs.
