Kohima police serve 15-day deadline for removal of crash guards

Dimapur, Jan. 11 (EMN): The Kohima police authorities have provided a 15-day window for vehicle owners to remove crash guards/ bull bars fitted into their vehicles. This was informed through a press release from the Senior Superintendent of Kohima Police on Thursday.
“The fitment/fitting of crash guards/ bull bars on motor vehicles is in contravention of Section 52 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and attracts penalty under Section 190 and Section 191 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
Therefore vehicles owners who have installed crash guards/ bull bars on their vehicles are directed to remove the unauthorized fitments from their vehicles within 15 (fifteen) days from the issue of this order. In the event of failure to comply with the order, penalty will be imposed on the offenders as per provisions of the MV Act, 1988,” the statement read.
